The problem
For food, beverage, and pharma operations, not knowing which lot is where isn't just inefficient — it's a compliance and safety risk. Teamship makes lots traceable end to end.
Stock comes in with lots, but nothing records which lot ended up where.
Finding which orders got an affected lot means digging through spreadsheets.
Newer stock ships first, so older stock quietly expires on the shelf.
When an auditor or client asks for a lot's history, you can't produce it.
Everything regulated and perishable goods need — traceable, and audit-ready.
Capture and track every unit by lot or batch number, from the moment it's received.
Track expiry dates and automatically pick and ship first-to-expire first, cutting write-offs.
Trace any lot upstream to receipt and downstream to every order and pallet it touched.
Find every affected lot and quarantine the remaining stock in a single action.
A complete, timestamped audit trail of every movement a lot has been through.
Let clients request specific lots, for quality holds, first-article checks, or regulated goods.
Tag and group pallets by lot for cleaner control, quality holds, and returns.
Track serialized units too, with warranty traceability. See serial tracking.
When a recall hits, and when stock is about to expire — Teamship turns both from crises into clicks.
A recall becomes a search, not a scramble. Enter the lot and Teamship shows every order, pallet, and location it touched, then quarantines the remaining stock in one action so nothing else ships. The audit trail is already there.
Teamship reads the expiry captured on each lot and directs picking to the earliest-expiring stock first (FEFO). Perishable and dated goods rotate the way they should, so you write off far less and pass shelf-life requirements.

Request a DemoThe lot travels with the stock — so the history is always there when you need it.
Scan lot and expiry onto every unit at receiving, along with any custom attributes.
Every order records the exact lots that shipped, completing the outbound chain.
Search a lot to see everywhere it's been: upstream to receipt, downstream to every order and pallet.
Quarantine every affected lot in one action, and hand a full history to auditors and clients.
How regulated operations stay audit-ready and recall-ready every day.
Lot tracking is part of accurate inventory management and the reason food, beverage, and pharma operations choose Teamship. See how it fits the full Teamship WMS.
Lot tracking (or lot control) records the lot or batch number of goods as they move through the warehouse, so you always know which lot is where and which lots shipped on which orders. It's essential for expiry rotation, quality control, and recalls in food, beverage, and pharmaceutical operations.
Lot tracking follows a batch of identical units produced together (a lot), while serial tracking follows each individual unit by a unique serial number. Lots are used for expiry and recalls; serials are used for warranty and high-value item traceability. Teamship supports both.
FEFO (First Expired, First Out) is an inventory rotation method that picks and ships the earliest-expiring stock first. Teamship applies FEFO automatically using captured expiry dates, which minimizes write-offs on perishable goods.
Because every movement is recorded against a lot, a recall becomes a search: find the affected lot, see every order and pallet it touched, and quarantine the remaining stock in one action, in seconds rather than days of spreadsheet work.
