Platform · 3PL Billing

Storage billing software for every way you charge for space.

Daily or monthly, by pallet or cubic meter, on average or on peak — Teamship bills warehouse storage the way your contracts actually work, per customer and per warehouse, and posts it straight to the invoice.

Pallet · CBM · sq ft · per-LPN · high-water mark

The problem

Storage is the hardest thing a 3PL bills for

Every contract charges differently, occupancy changes daily, and spreadsheets can't keep up — so storage revenue gets estimated, or lost.

Every contract differs

Pallet, cubic, square foot, per-LPN. No two clients bill storage the same way.

Teamship: bill on any basis, per customer.

Occupancy moves daily

Stock comes and goes, so a static monthly count under- or over-bills.

Teamship: daily accrual and high-water-mark billing.

Spreadsheet math

Calculating storage by hand at month-end is slow, error-prone, and hard to prove.

Teamship: calculated automatically, posted to the invoice.

Warehouse storage billing, every way the industry does it

Whatever basis, period, and measure your contracts use — Teamship models it exactly.

Daily, weekly & monthly

Accrue storage on any period, so charges match how long goods actually stay.

Split-month pricing

Charge different rates within the same month when a price change takes effect mid-period.

Per pallet & pallet size

Bill per pallet, and vary the rate by pallet size or type.

Cubic (CBM)

Bill by cubic meter for clients whose goods are measured by volume.

Square foot

Charge by floor area for dedicated space and bulk-stored goods.

Per LPN & pallet equivalents

Bill by license plate or normalize mixed storage into pallet equivalents.

Peak (high-water mark)

Bill on the highest occupancy in the period, the space you had to reserve.

Custom pallet charges

Attach custom charge types to pallets for handling, hazmat, or special storage.

The methods spreadsheets can't handle

Peak-based billing and per-site pricing are where storage revenue is usually lost — and where Teamship shines.

Peak storage

Bill for the space you actually reserved

When a client's stock peaks mid-month, you held that space for them, so average-based billing leaves money behind. Teamship tracks occupancy continuously and bills on the high-water mark when your contract calls for it, capturing the real cost of reserving capacity.

  • Continuous tracking: occupancy captured every day.
  • Peak or average: choose the measure per client.
  • Provable: the peak and the period are on the invoice backup.
Occupancy · March · pallets
Billed on peak: 132 pallets (Mar 18), not the monthly average.
Per client & per warehouse

Different rates for different clients — and sites

Storage costs differ by facility and by deal, so Teamship lets you set storage price sheets per customer and per warehouse, even different rates for the same customer across warehouses in their organization. Every location bills at the rate that reflects its real cost.

  • Per customer: custom storage pricing for every account.
  • Per warehouse: rates that reflect each facility's cost.
  • Same client, multiple sites: different rates across their network.
Storage rates · Acme Co
West DC · per pallet / day$0.85 West
East DC · per pallet / day$1.05 East
East DC · CBM / month$14.00 East

Storage billing FAQ

What is storage billing software?

Storage billing software calculates and bills the charges a 3PL or warehouse levies for storing a client's goods. It automates the math across whatever basis you use, pallet, cubic, square foot, per LPN, and whatever period, so storage revenue is captured accurately without spreadsheets.

How do you bill for warehouse storage?

Warehouses bill storage on a basis (per pallet, pallet size, cubic meter, square foot, per LPN, or pallet equivalents) over a period (daily, weekly, or monthly). Some bill on actual occupancy, others on peak storage (the high-water mark). Teamship supports all of these and lets you mix methods per customer and warehouse.

What is high-water-mark storage billing?

High-water-mark billing charges storage based on the highest occupancy a client reached during the billing period, rather than a daily average. It reflects the space you had to reserve for them. Teamship tracks the peak automatically and bills on it when you choose that method.

Can I bill different customers and warehouses differently?

Yes. Teamship supports different storage price sheets per customer and per warehouse, including different rates for the same customer across warehouses in their organization, plus custom charge types tied to pallets.

Does storage billing connect to invoicing?

Yes. Storage charges flow automatically into Teamship's 3PL billing, appearing on the client's invoice alongside handling and shipping charges and syncing to QuickBooks with a PDF backup.
