The problem

The last step is where orders go wrong

Everything upstream is wasted if the wrong thing ships, the weight is guessed, or the paperwork's a mess. Here's what breaks at pack-out — and how Teamship handles it.

Wrong item packed

Packing from memory ships the wrong SKU and turns into a return and a refund.

Teamship: scan-verify every SKU into the carton.

Guessed weights

Assumed weights and dims mean wrong freight cost and under-billed clients.

Teamship: capture real weights & dims (catch-weights).

Inserts missed & unbilled

Marketing inserts get forgotten, or added and never charged for.

Teamship: auto-add inserts and auto-charge for them.

Paperwork chaos

Pack lists, labels, BOLs, and customs docs juggled by hand at the last second.

Teamship: generate them all automatically.

One pack-out flow for ecommerce and bulk

Stations, scans, packages, and paperwork — everything the pack bench needs, in one place.

Ecommerce packing stations

Move a picked batch to packing and assign it to a station by selecting or scanning the location.

Multi-package builds

Pack an order into one or many packages, each with its own dimensions and weight.

Split orders

Split an order across multiple packages or shipments, handled end to end in the system.

Bulk pallet packing

Pack full pallets and capture outbound pallet weights and dimensions for freight.

Catch-weights

Record actual outbound weights for variable-weight products, so billing and freight are exact.

Pack lists & packing slips

Generate and print pack lists and packing slips for both bulk and ecommerce orders.

Carrier label printing

Generate and print the carrier shipping label right at the pack bench, ready to hand off.

Weights & dims → BOL

Final weights and dimensions consolidate automatically onto the bill of lading.

The parts of packing nobody wants to do by hand

Two things quietly cost 3PLs money at pack-out — missed insert charges and manual paperwork. Teamship automates both.

Automated inserts

Inserts added automatically — and charged automatically

Set a rule and Teamship drops the right brochure or insert into every qualifying ecommerce carton, then bills the client for it. No forgotten inserts, and no revenue left on the table: it flows straight into 3PL billing.

  • Rule-driven: add inserts by client, channel, or promotion.
  • Auto-charged: every insert bills the client automatically.
  • Zero missed billing: a real margin leak, closed.

Automated paperwork

Every document, generated for you

Pack lists, carrier labels, the bill of lading, and international customs paperwork are produced from the pack data automatically, so the right documents ship with every order, without anyone rekeying weights and dimensions.

  • BOL consolidation: final weights & dims roll onto the bill of lading.
  • Customs automation: international paperwork generated automatically.
  • Print or digital: pack lists and labels, however your dock runs.

Frequently asked questions

What is a packing slip?

A packing slip (or pack list) is a document included with a shipment that lists the items and quantities in the order, so the receiver can verify what arrived against what was ordered. Teamship generates and prints pack lists for both bulk and ecommerce orders.

Does Teamship support ecommerce and bulk packing?

Yes. Teamship supports ecommerce packing with packing stations, scan-verified packing, multi-package builds, and split orders, as well as bulk order packing where you capture outbound pallet weights and dimensions.

Can I split an order into multiple packages?

Yes. Split orders are handled in the system: you can pack an order into multiple packages, each with its own dimensions and weight, and Teamship keeps the order together across those packages.

What are catch-weights?

Catch-weights are the actual measured weights of variable-weight products captured at packing, rather than an assumed standard weight. Teamship records outbound catch-weights so freight and client billing are accurate.

Can Teamship automatically add and charge for inserts?

Yes. Teamship can automatically add marketing inserts or brochures to ecommerce cartons based on your rules, and auto-charge the client for them, no manual step and no missed billing.

Does Teamship generate customs documentation?

Yes. Teamship automates customs documentation for international shipments, and consolidates final weights and dimensions onto the bill of lading (BOL).
