For Extensiv customers
On September 1, 2026, Descartes acquired Extensiv. Nothing changes for you this week. Quite a lot may change by your next renewal, and none of it will be decided with you in the room. Here's what to expect, what to ask, and why 3PLs who leave Extensiv pick Teamship.
Brands like Fujifilm, Garland Commercial Ranges, and DRiV are fulfilled through Teamship every day.

Every acquirer says the same thing on day one: nothing changes, the team stays, customers come first. Then the decisions that actually affect you get made over the following 6 to 24 months, by the new owner's priorities, and you find out at renewal. The pattern is consistent enough across the software industry that you should plan for it rather than hope you're the exception:
This isn't a prediction about Descartes. It's what the pattern looks like, and it's why the next few months are the best negotiating position you'll ever have with your current vendor, and the cheapest moment to leave.
Operators coming off Extensiv are the customers Teamship onboards most often, and they tell us the same things every time. None of it required an acquisition to be true. The acquisition just removed the last reason to wait:
What they get at Teamship is the direct answer to each column: flat published pricing starting at $400 a month, everything they used in Extensiv without the bloat, plus things Extensiv doesn't have (TeamMate AI agents, automated charge capture, pallet photos, a custom workflow builder, a label designer, unlimited attribute tracking), and support from a real person who knows their operation, with custom work priced at a transparent hourly rate quoted up front.
Ask these in writing. Compare the answers you get to the column on the right. If the answers are "we don't know yet" or "nothing changes," you have your decision timeline.
| Ask your account team | What a good answer looks like | Teamship's answer |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Will the roadmap we were shown still be delivered, and when? | Written commitments with dates. | We ship weekly. We're independent, so our roadmap is decided by our customers, not by a portfolio review. |
| 2. Will Extensiv stay a standalone product or be combined with other Descartes warehouse products? | An honest "we don't know yet" is the realistic answer. Note it. | One product, one owner, no overlapping systems to consolidate you into. |
| 3. What is my price and what are my minimums at my next renewal? | A number, in writing, now, not in the renewal month. | Published on our website. Flat, starting at $400/month, unlimited users and clients. You can calculate year one before you talk to us. |
| 4. Who owns my account and my support tickets, and will that change? | Named people, escalation path, response commitments. | A real person who knows your operation. 3PLs live on fast action; so does our support. |
| 5. Will any of my integrations, carrier connections or data exports change? | A specific answer for the connectors you use daily. | 300+ integrations, and if a client demands one we don't have, we build it. |
| 6. If the product is migrated or retired, what is the customer path and who pays? | A written commitment. Expect none. | One product, one owner, no portfolio to be consolidated into. If our circumstances ever changed, you'd already hold our pricing and terms in writing. |
| 7. What does my contract say about assignment and change of control? | Ask your own counsel, not the vendor. Many agreements have language for exactly this. Read it before the renewal window closes. | Bring your renewal date to the demo. We'll build the migration timeline around it. |
Teamship is independent and owner-run today, and our answers to the seven questions above are already in writing on this page. Our pricing is published and flat, starting at $400 a month, so there is no renewal surprise to negotiate. Your floor scans on any phone or tablet in a browser, so there is no device fleet to re-provision. And every customer inherits us as a pro-bono IT WMS consultant: when you bid on a contract, we help with the technical sections; when a prospect needs an integration, we build it.

Request a DemoThe Descartes Systems Group (Nasdaq: DSGX, TSX: DSG) announced on September 1, 2026 that it had acquired Extensiv for approximately US$120 million in cash. Descartes is a Canadian logistics technology company that has grown largely through acquisitions; Extensiv is its fourth announced acquisition of 2026.
Nobody outside the two companies knows yet, and that's the point. Existing contracts continue, but roadmap priorities, packaging, pricing at renewal and support structure are all decided by the new owner over the following quarters, without you in the room. Ask direct questions now, read your contract before your renewal date, and get a Teamship quote next to your renewal so the decision is yours.
You should stop treating your renewal as automatic. Get written answers on roadmap, pricing and support, read your contract's change-of-control language, and put a real alternative side by side before the window closes. Extensiv customers are the operators we onboard most often, and their reasons predate this deal: flat published pricing instead of quote-based renewals, software without the bloat, and support from people who know their operation.
It depends entirely on your agreement. Many software contracts contain assignment or change-of-control clauses that define what happens when the vendor is sold; some give the customer options, many don't. Read yours with your counsel, and do it before the renewal window closes.
